RULES AND REGULATIONS
SEMI
CONTACT (points)
All sparring bouts will be of 2 minutes
duration including the finals.
A fighter has to win by 2 clear points with the first fighter to 7 points
being declared the winner. However, if one fighter is winning by 7 points
then that fighter will automatically win using the 7 point spread system.
If after the fighting time the bout is tied, the fight will continue
until there is a clear winner by 2 points (taking flag warnings into
consideration). In the no time extension points will be deducted for each violation of the rules without flag warnings.
Semi
contact scoring points:
Jump kick to head: 3 points
Kick to head: 2 points
Jump kick to body and kick to body: 1 point
All punches: 1 point (scoring to back of head)
Foot sweeps: 1 point (opponent must touch down on floor)
Fighters
are requested to wear a martial art suit or T-shirt and trousers with
a belt or sash in all semi contact bouts (unless not graded). Head guards,
gum shields, shin pads, hand pads, foot pads, and groin guards are compulsary plus chest
protectors for ladies fighting.
Please note that vests and non martial arts wear will not be allowed.
LIGHT
CONTACT (continuous)
All sparring bouts will be of 2 minutes
duration including the finals.
The clicker scoring system will be used. At the end of the bout the
fighter with the most points will be declared the winner. If after time
the fight is tied the fighter with the least warnings will be declared
the winner. If both fighters have the same amount of flagged warnings
there will be a 30 second extension.
If a fighter shows signs of tiredness or is not able to defend him/herself
they will receive a standing 8 count. They must put up their guard on
the count of 8. Failure to do so will result in their opponent being
awarded the bout.
Light contact scoring points: Same as semi contact
Fighters are requested to wear martial art trousers and T-shirt for all bouts. No belts or sashes to be worn in light contact fights. Boxing gloves along with head guard, foot pads, shin pads, groin guard and mouth guard are compulsory in all bouts. Plus chest protectors for ladies. No vests or shorts will be allowed in any light contact division.
KICKFIGHTING
The ultimate kickers division will be of 2 minutes duation
The clicker scoring system will be used with the scoring of kicking techniques only. No punching techniques allowed, but competitors are allowed to use blocking techniques. Flag warnings will be enforced for violation of any of the rules.
FULL CONTACT
The full contact division will be 2 rounds for a duraion of 2 minutes. The finals will be 3 rounds of 2 minutes. The scoring will be as light contact (see above) with the winner being declared on points, tko or kockout. Flag warnings will apply (as light contact apart from the contact rule).
SELF DEFENCE
The self defence division will be of 90 seconds duration. With 2 performers demonstrating their self defence skills using blocks, kicks, punches and take downs with weapons or open hands to music (if desired).
COACHES AND SPECTATORS
All coaches, instructors and spectators are requested to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner at all Cimac events. We will not tolerate any bad or foul language directed to any referees, table officials, other competitors, coaches or first aid staff. Anyone heard using bad language will be asked to leave the fighting area. If this rule is broken twice, the fighter for the team concerned will be disqualified from the competition.
FLAG WARNINGS
STEPPING OUT OF THE AREA; HEAVY CONTACT (TO FACE); ATTACKING THE BACK; ATTACKING THE LEGS; ATTACKING THE JOINTS; FALLING DOWN; FIGHTING AFTER STOP IS CALLED; ARGUING WITH THE REFEREE; DRAWING BLOOD; SHOWING DISENT; NOT WEARING THE APPROPRIATE ATTIRE
Please note the 2 two strike rule in Light Contact
If the referees call a competitor for contact they deem to be deliberate they will be called for CONTACT. If they get a second CONTACT warning they will be disqualified.
Flag warnings will be enforced in all sparring divisions including semi contact, light contact, full contact and kick fighting. For violation of the rules fighters will be warned with a red or blue flag, For each flag warning a point will be deducted at the end of the bout. Any fighter receiving 5 flags will automatically be disqualified.
Competitors names will be called before the start of their division. You will be requested to check in to the chief referee at your area before the start of your category. Once your name has been called you will have to stay at your area. When your name is called to be on deck you will have 30 seconds to be padded up and ready to compete. Failure to comply with this rule will result in a flag warning.
NO LEAGUE POINTS CAN BE CARRIED OVER INTO ANOTHER DIVISION IF A COMPETITOR MOVES UP TO ANOTHER HEIGHT OR WEIGHT DURING THE 2007 SERIES
